The Alphabet May Lose a Few Letters

The Economist may be correct that the conglomerate structure may result in more autonomy at Alphabet but paradoxically less flexibility as fiscal discipline kicks in for those Big Bets and Moonshot projects when they have to demonstrate real results and justify their existence.

However, maybe this is not such a bad thing and some of those projects may or indeed have to die. It will free up resources for groups or projects with even more potential? Ofcourse, the conundrum is to foster them long enough to determine which ones need to go but not to allow the ones with true potential to die too early.
